Thankfully, Kautz said, the city has set aside money in an undesignated reserve fund.That money, plus a promise to reduce spending and keep taxes low, puts Burnsville in a good position heading into 2009.Kautz said Burnsville’s Infrastructure Trust Fund protects public infrastructure needs.Moving forward, Kautz said the city is already planning to review the sign ordinance and liquor license ordinance.Top priorities for 2009 include securing funding for a new County Road 5 and Highway 13 intersection. Kautz said the city is hopeful to get funding from President Barack Obama’s stimulus package. Kautz said the intersection is key to opening up the Minnesota River quadrant to new development. Following the address, Kautz fielded a question about the proposed baseball stadium in the Minnesota River quadrant.
